Junior Web Developer

KZD Solutions is a Durban digital innovation company. We build websites, custom software and internal systems for South African businesses, and we look after them once they are live.

We are looking for a Junior Web Developer to help build and maintain client websites. You will work on live projects from your first week, with a senior developer reviewing your work and explaining the reasoning behind it.

What you will work on

• Building client websites in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Turning designs from Penpot into working, responsive pages
• WordPress theme and plugin work for client sites
• Fixing bugs and making improvements on sites already live
• Testing your work across browsers and on real phones

What we are looking for

• A qualification in IT, computer science or web development, or equivalent self-taught experience
• Solid HTML and CSS. You can build a responsive layout without a framework
• Working JavaScript. You understand the DOM and can debug your own code
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Clear written and spoken communication in English
• Based in Durban or willing to relocate. This role is on site

Nice to have

• WordPress or WooCommerce experience
• Some PHP
• A portfolio, GitHub profile or personal projects we can look at
• Basic understanding of hosting, domains and DNS
